Red Cross Training | Tots Need Toys Christmas Outreach
We provide hot meals for the elderly, we support the Community Senior Nutrition Program, and our donations and volunteers assist the Good Samaritan Center. Our church facilities are designated for Red Cross Disaster Relief, we provide facilities and sponsor a Boy Scout Troop, we are involved in our community Tots Need Toys program.
Contact the church office 830-833-5030 for information to get involved in our Missions or Outreach Programs.
Good Samaritan Center
The Blanco Good Samaritan Center helps people in need in Blanco and Blanco County. All funds for the center come from donations of several local churches, individual gifts and the sale of second-hand clothing and other items. No local, state or federal funds support the center.
The pantry and store are open weekdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information and/or to volunteer, call 830-833-5269 or visit online blancogoodsam.org.
Meals on Wheels
Our church has volunteers on a rotating basis with other community churches to assist with delivering Meals on Wheels.
American Red Cross Training
When they Really Need You
Volunteers do lots of jobs: providing clothing, helping repair homes, arrange housing for victims, feeding hungry survivors, operating emergency shelters, connecting survivors with friends and family, and the multitude of behind-the-scenes jobs like delivering supplies or handling paperwork.
The trainings are free, but pre-registration will assure there are enough materials for everyone. To put your name on the list for the next course, call Terry Faglie in the Hill Country Chapter office at 830-257-4677.
Tots Need Toys Christmas Outreach
The church participates in a yearly community outreach project to provide assistance with gifts. Volunteers help set up toys for distribution and act as hosts, shopping assistants, wrappers, etc. Planning begins in October of each year, so see Cerice Spivey to let her know when you are able to help.
